NLA Service Update

NLA Digital's Internet facing services are currently unavailable. We began to lose internet facing services at approximately 22:30. Our hosting provider, BSG, is aware of the issue and an engineer is at the Level3 data centre working to resolve it.

The issue is believed to be within BSG's core network and is affecting multiple BSG customers.

Further updates will be issued as we learn more.

NLA Service Announcement 24-09-07

Our Cisco PIX firewalls, which sit between our front and back end networks, will be replaced, with Cisco ASA firewalls, on Thursday 4th October 2007 at 19:00. The PIX devices are currently the only part of our data centre infrastructure which operate at 100Mbps, while all other devices operate at 1000Mbps. The upgrade will provide 10 times the throughput between our web/FTP servers and the rest of our network.

If all goes according to plan, we expect no more than a 15 minute outage. The outage will affect eClips and ClipShare web services and all FTP services (publisher and client).

This work is scheduled maintenance and is taking place outside a Peak Period as required in the licence.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

NLA Service Announcement

On Saturday 29th September there will be interrupted eClips service for 2 hours between 06:00-08:00. The service interruption will be intermittent, not a sustained outage.

Our internet hosting partner BSG will be performing essential upgrade work on their core network at this time. This upgrade will give BSG the future ability to provision virtual private networks for all of their customers across their core using MPLS, enabling them to offer managed hosting services across multiple data centres for the purposes of resilience and disaster recovery. It will also enable customers to benefit in the future from resilient LES connections to their Hosting and Internet Transit services via diverse points-of-presence (POPs) at the Level (3) and Telehouse facilities.

Should you require any further information please contact your NLA account executive.

Level3 Maintenance

Due do maintenance at our hosting centre, Level3, the eClips system will be unavailable from 5-15 minutes at two points next Saturday night/Sunday morning.

The first outage will occur at 00:10 and the second will be at 06:15.

We do not expect either of these outages to have a negative impact on our nightly production.

The both the FTP service and the ability to view cuttings will be impacted - but only for the duration of the outage.

Based on usage trends for the past year, we expect the impact to end-users to be minimal.

We will send email notifications to all of the PCA production contacts later today, and will send a reminder email next  Saturday evening at the start of the production run. If you experience any problems outside these times, please call the support number as usual.

Please feel free to contact Client Services with any questions.

Enjoy your weekend!
